my bf took his 'dressy' black shoes thinking the clubs would be hard on him like they are in Australia - they never came out of his bag once on the trip - tennis shoes were fine for him - as long as you're not planning to get into the fancy clubs you'll be fine in tennis shoes or similar and a nice casual top and pants.

I advise my partner to bring dressy shoes when we travel. Along with hiking boots and trainers and thongs. The dressy shoes aren't heavy and don't take up much room. My partner calls them 'dolly' shoes. They are slip ons with a sparkly flower on the toe. I think she wears them more often than the hiking boots.

When we travel I would say that a good third of my backpack is taken up with my partners clothes. It doesn't bother me, it's a small price to pay to have my girl comfortable, happy and still looking good.
