Hello all,
I've been going through the archives and there seems to be very little info about hostels in Glasgow. I've gone through several of the hostel research databases but good Glasgow hostels seem few and far between - or at least I'm not looking hard enough. Does anyone have any favourite Glasgow hostels they can share? I'm on the verge of considering several cheapo hotels as well as they do not seem much more expensive and the reviews are decent. Cheers and thanks. (I just realised this thread is in the wrong section. Sorry mods!) |

1. The best source for hostels in the British Isles is uktrails (a member of this forum).
2. I haven't stayed overnight in Glasgow, but have you checked the IYHA Glasgow hostel? |

As Mark says (thank you!) there is a comprehensive summary of opinions about Glasgow hostels on my site.
But it looks as if you have gained a fair impression. Each hostel has good and bad points. I think you would like Bunkum, but it's a pity that the TV watchers monopolise the common room. www.uktrail.com

Yes, the IYHA is the International Youth Hostels Association, but I would still go with uktrail for on-scene recommendations.

Glasgow doesn't boast a ton of sites, what's your plan for staying there?

You should pick a place like Edinburgh instead, or head into the Highlands.

Bagpipes:
A wonderful sound when heard from the other side of a Scottish glen. Not a wonderful sound when heard within 2 metres in the same room!
